Air Force Special Air Operations exercise in Noakhali

As a significant part of winter training of Noakhali A three-day special air operation exercise was conducted at Sudharam Airfield in Sadar Upazila. In this exercise on Wednesday (March 3), Bangladesh was divided into two separate states called Green Land and Red Land. Sudharam Airfield in Noakhali district is used as Red Land's important forward air base in this exercise.

In this special air operation, 15 para commandos of Bangladesh Army and 30 ground combatants of Bangladesh Air Force landed at Sudharam Airfield through three Mi-17 helicopters of Bangladesh Air Force and confirmed the victory of Green Land by capturing the airfield.

Through the Bangladesh Air Force's annual winter exercise "Wintex-2021", the airmen of the air force practiced various types of aerial warfare including attack, interception, observation of enemy-held areas from the air, logistics, troop and munitions transfer, special operations, search and rescue missions. Practicing all kinds of arts.

Through this exercise, apart from air combat, all related exercises including ground defense system are practiced. The exercise was conducted simultaneously across Bangladesh including Sylhet, Tangail, Lalmonirhat, Shamshernagar, Barisal, Rasulpur, Sudharam in addition to all Air Force bases, stations and units.

All members of the Air Force participated in this exercise, including all combat aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopters, radar and surface-to-air missile units. The exercise was visited by Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Abul Bashar Air Force Base Zahurul Haque, Air Captain Air Vice Marshal ASM Fakhrul Islam, senior Air Force officers. Also, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Samchuddin Jehan, Upazila Executive Officer Farhan Jahan Upma and other dignitaries of the area were present.

It may be noted that Bangladesh Army, Navy, Civil Defense and BNCC (Air Wing) participated in the exercise in small scale with necessary coordination with other forces to make the exercise more effective.
