The price of edible oil has been reduced by Rs 3 per litre. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Banspati Manufacturers Association has reduced the prices at the request of the Ministry of Commerce. Accordingly, the price of bottled soybean oil in the market will decrease by Tk 3 per liter to Tk 141.
This information was informed by the organization in a press release on Monday (May 3).
It is said in the notification, considering the current context of fasting and the purchasing power of the consumer in this crisis of Corona, the association has decided to reduce the price of edible oil by 3 taka per liter till Eid on the request of the Ministry of Commerce.
Traders had already increased the price of edible oil by 5 rupees per liter in the market. The companies increased the price of edible oil from last April 25. After a week of price increase in the market, Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Banaspati Manufacturers Association says, not 5 taka, the price can be increased by 2 taka per liter. If this decision of the association is implemented, the price of edible oil will be reduced to 3 rupees per liter in the market.
