RAB-11 has arrested two members of international women trafficker Rifadul Islam Hridoy group from Siddhirganj of Narayanganj. They are both husband and wife.
RAB Assistant Director Md. Samrat Talukdar said in a press release that those who were arrested in that operation last Friday are Rubel Sarkar alias Rahul (32) and his wife Sonia (25). The arrested are active members of an organized international women trafficking ring and they traffic the beautiful young women between the ages of 15 and 25 for anti-social activities by luring them with high paying jobs abroad.
The syndicate members used to take the trafficked women to hotels and keep them under house arrest. During their stay abroad, these young women were not allowed to go out of the hotel under any circumstances. In the initial stage, if the young women did not agree to indulge in these anti-social activities, various intoxicants were forcibly administered.
RAB also said that the interrogation and preliminary investigation of the arrested persons revealed that the arrested accused Md. Rubel Sarkar is in direct contact with Rahul and his wife Sonia on TikTok Hriday. RAB-11 special intelligence has been monitoring this human trafficking gang for a long time and arrested them last Friday. The mentioned 2 DMPs are accused in the human trafficking case of Hatirjheel police station of Dhaka district. RAB's operation will continue to root out all these human trafficking rings.
