of Lakshmipur Police have arrested two teachers along with the principal of Attamarin Hifjul Qur'an Madrasah in Chandraganj on the charge of sexual abuse (rape) of a student. In this incident, on Monday (March 1) night, the victim's mother filed a case at Chandraganj police station accusing two people.
Arrested are - Madrasa teacher Hafez Md. Masum Billah (24), he belongs to North Fenua Maulvi village of North Howla UP Manoharganj police station of Comilla district. Maulana Abdur Rashid Mohammad Yusuf (45), son of Harunur Rashid and principal of the madrasa, is the son of deceased Qari Sirajul Haque of the house of Dakshin Chakdosh Qari Saheb Huzur, Chakdosh village of Kachia UP, Borhanuddin police station, Bhola district.
According to the sources, it is known that a student (10) resident of Najera section of Attamarin International Hifzul Qur'an Madrasa adjacent to Afzal Road in Chandraganj Paschim Bazar was called to the dining room at night by the teacher of Hefz Md. Hafez. Masum Billah often sexually assaulted her and threatened her with death if she told anyone.
Recently, when the Madrasa declared a 1-week holiday, the child went home like other children. Later the madrasa was opened but the child refused to come to the madrasa. When his mother asked why he would not go to the madrasa, the child opened up about the sexual abuse by the teacher.
Meanwhile, the child's mother and relatives came to the madrasa on Friday afternoon on February 26, the principal said. Abdur Rashid informed Mohammad Yusuf about the matter and requested him to investigate. But the principal of the madrasa, without investigating the incident, beat the child to death the next day on Saturday. On Monday, the child's mother and others came to the madrasa after receiving information on the mobile phone and informed the police station after finding the child injured.
Later SI of Chandraganj police station. Kamal Uddin along with the force went to the scene and got the truth of the complaint, the accused teacher Hafez Md. Maasum Billah and the principal of the madrasa. Abdur Rashid arrested Mohammad Yusuf. It is said that after hearing the incident, many parents came to the madrasa at night and pressured them to take their children from the madrasa as well.
In this regard, Chandraganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AK Fazlul Haque said that after learning about the matter, the police sent to the spot and arrested two teachers and a case was registered against the two accused teachers. They will be sent to jail by the court on Tuesday.
