Gunfire at minister's car in Uganda, 2 killed

Gunmen have attacked the car of an influential minister in Uganda. His daughter and driver, who were with him, were killed in the attack. The minister survived the gunshot wound. It is understood that the attack was carried out to kill him.

According to Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera, a Ugandan military spokesman said that four gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on the car of Uganda's Minister of Works and Transport, General Katumba Wamala, in the Kampala suburb of Kisasi on Tuesday.

Army spokesperson Brigadier Flavia said that General Katumba Wamala was shot by gunmen. He was taken to hospital with injuries after the attack. The minister's daughter and driver died on the spot from gunshot wounds.
